Bit of a belated post but in the summer I ventured to Brodsworth Hall in Yorkshire for the first time. A brass band was playing out on the lawn, so I left my mum and her friends there to explore the house and grounds. I was lucky due to most of the visitors there for the music, I felt like I had the place to myself.
I didn’t manage to get many good photos of the inside of the house, a lot of it was covered to preserve it, or having restoration works, but I was in awe of all the books in the library.
The gardens are breath taking, wandering around with my headphones and a camera on a sunny Sunday afternoon was an absolute dream.
Brodsworth is part of English Heritage, and for non members it’s £10.40 for entry.
There was even a little pet graveyard where I enjoyed reading the tombstones.
If you’re in the North with a sunny afternoon to spare I definitely recommend a stroll around here. I only just found out they had a cute Christmas light display too, hopefully in 10 months time I’ll remember and head back to check it out. Let me know what other stately homes you love and are worth a visit in the comments below.
