Having missed out last year, I was extremely excited to check out the Enchanted event at Brodsworth Hall, an English Heritage site close to Doncaster.
There’s a trail through the vast gardens (they are enchanting enough on a bright summer’s day, let alone a freezing Christmas night) which is purely lit by hundreds of fairy lights.
The trail has a number of different sights to stop off at on the way including these magical, musical, light sculptures. I’m not the best at low light photography, nor confident in editing them, so these grainy images really don’t do the night any justice but I hope you enjoy them all the same and will consider visiting an Enchanted Heritage site next Christmas.
Half way around the trail there’s some fires and a stall that you can purchase giant marshmallows to toast on them, or mulled wine and hot drinks.
The fairy garden was complete with sounds of the fairies calling to each other.
When you’ve completed the trail and found the fairies, you exit the grounds to an adorable vintage style fair with children’s rides, hook-a-duck and festive food stalls.
I believe the Enchanted events at English Heritage sites have now sold out for this year, but sign up to their newsletter to be in the know for next year.
As a member the ticket was just £8, a non-member adult would be £12.
