I’m sure many of you are familiar with the artist Phlegm, a local legend in the street art world, his unique and highly detailed characters adorn many walls in Sheffield, and the world too. I had been captivated by his Instagram recently as he created an art installation titled Mausoleum of the Giants over the last few weeks.
Taking over Eye Witness Works, an old cutlery factory, Phlegm has filled the interior with giant sculptures, truly bringing his wonderfully macabre characters to life. Taking him 5 months, and what I can only imagine a lot of chicken wire and papier mache, (and not to mention the hours painting), the outcome is definitely worth a visit (despite how long the queue is…we waited 1.5 hours), and completely free to do so.
For those of you from further afield, take a look at some of my photos from the mausoleum.
