Earlier in the year my friend Charlotte asked me to go to see Anthony McCall’s ‘Solid Light Works’ exhibition at the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield. It actually took us a couple of months to actually get round to going but I’m glad we did as it was unlike anything I’ve seen before. It’s the first time his work has been in the UK for a decade, and this pieces have never been seen over here before.
“McCall describes his practice as existing in the space where cinema, sculpture and drawing overlap. He is best known for his large-scale, immersive sculptural light installations that incorporate the visitor and invite them to become active participants in the work”.
Sadly the exhibition ends in a few days so it’s not the best recommendation post, but did anyone else get chance to visit it?
